#InstaKC Captures: The Roasterie

January 27, 2017

#InstaKC Captures is a blog series that highlights some of the most photogenic sights in Kansas City. From iconic monuments to lesser known gems, we tour the city in search of some of the best places to take a snapshot.

This week, we visited The Roasterie Factory Cafe, home to the most photographed airplane in all of Kansas City. Not to mention the free daily tours, which showcase the coffee production process, from cupping and roasting to blending.

Sky-High Caffeination

There's more to this local roaster than just coffee. The Factory Cafe location on W 27 St. touts one of the most Instagrammable decorations in the entire city. The plane, which was installed in 2012, was originally built in 1943.

Now a symbol for the entire brand, you'll often find people pulling into the parking lot just to snag a shot of this historic aircraft.

Order an espresso and you may just receive a work of art in return. Coffee drinks from The Roasterie make great subjects for your next Instagram post.

Oh, and the drink doesn't taste half bad, either. The roaster has dozens of blends for every taste profile and style, plus plenty of seasonal favorites as well.

Where else could you learn how the coffee roasting process works while you caffeinate, all for free?

Reservations are recommended for the complimentary tours, where you'll learn the history of the company, experience a behind-the-scenes look of the factory and witness a coffee brewing session.
