My wife and I were touring around Independence with a very limited amount of time to take in the plethora of history the town has to offer. Pioneer Trails Adventures came to our rescue and gave us an outstanding opportunity to take in the sights, learn the history and enjoy the ride! In just over an hour we rode in a covered wagon through the streets of Independence where we could get up close and personal with civil war battlefields, historic homes of former President Harry Truman and even follow the route out of Independence that the pioneers took on their way west. Best of all, the commentary that accompanied our tour was entertaining and thoughtful, full of details but easily understood. As a high school history teacher, I found the tour guide to be extremely knowledgeable about the context of the town of Independence and beyond. We were very pleased with our service and would gladly recommend it to anyone visiting the Kansas City or Independence areas!
