A Kansas City Tradition
Devon Carney, the company’s new artistic director added, “The Nutcracker is designed to enchant audiences of all ages. It’s such a pleasure for me to become a part of this wonderful Kansas City tradition, bringing together our company of dancers, students from our Ballet Academy, the excellent musicians of Kansas City Symphony, plus the many other artists and technicians that make it happen. It is truly is a joyous celebration of the holiday spirit.”
“We are extremely excited to return to the Muriel Kauffman Theatre at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts with this perennial treat,” stated Jeffrey J. Bentley, executive director of the company. “For the past 40 years, we have produced this spectacular holiday classic to the delight of hundreds of thousands of adults and children. Since our move to the splendid Kauffman stage, a record number of people have attended this beloved production, with rave reviews for the dancers, design, and the Muriel Kauffman Theatre’s acoustical clarity and audience amenities.
