September is National Infant Mortality Awareness Month. To shine a spotlight on our vital work, we are hosting the 10th annual Black Infant Mortality Awareness Walk (BIMAW) on Saturday, September 21, 2024 and wanted to invite members of the Jackson County Links, Inc. to join us in solidarity for this impactful event. Event details: Date: Saturday, September 21, 2024 Registration: 8:00 AM Walk begins: 9:00 AM (all participants typically conclude their walk by 11a with refreshments and family activities to follow and end by 12p) Starting Point: Kansas City Health Department (2400 Troost, Kansas City, MO 64108) Ending Point: Uzazi Village (4232 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64110) Walk Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles along Troost Ave, Kansas City's traditional racial dividing line With a goal of gathering 200 participants, this year's walk will serve as a powerful demonstration of solidarity, amplifying our collective voices to healthcare providers, lawmakers, policy makers, and our communities, highlighting that the survival of Black babies is an issue that impacts us all.
