“The Sugar Creek Slavic Festival is the oldest and largest Slavic Festival in the U.S. and over 4,000 attended the two-day event in 2024. The festival preserves and celebrates the history and heritage of Eastern and Central European communities including Bulgaria, Belarus, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and many families of the various descendants reside in Kansas City. Festival goers enjoy great food, music, and dancing throughout the two days are all about bringing families together to celebrate their Slavic heritage. Grammy nominee and headliner Alex Meixner will perform both Friday, June 6 & Saturday, June 7th.
