Summer Brings Out the Dogs in Kansas City’s West Bottoms Barks in the Bottoms
First Friday Weekend events welcome dogs August 1-3

The Historic West Bottoms District is rolling out the canine ruff carpet. Leashed dogs are welcome at most West Bottoms shops and they’ll have paws-tively the best time with bone-appétit treats, water, and dog-approved seating to enjoy with shoppers at the First Friday Weekend August 1-3 Barks in the Bottoms event.

“We won’t hound anyone to bring their dog but they are sure to have a ball at Barks in the Bottoms this First Friday Weekend,” said the West Bottoms district spokesperson, Amber Arnett-Bequeaith. “We are lining up photo opportunities, foods, drinks, music, and vintage shopping experience extraordinaire.”

West Bottoms’ Shopping: Embracing the Festival of the Full Moon Weekends' theme, Barks in the Bottoms runs from Aug. 1-3. Shops will be open Friday through Sunday, with most opening at 9 AM, closing around 6 PM on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 12-4 PM. For specific store openings, it’s recommended to refer to individual store Facebook pages or visit westbottoms.com.

Full Moon Escape: the Escape Games have slots available and new games. Open Friday, 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM; Saturday, 10:30 AM - 10:30 PM; Sunday, 10:30 AM - 9:30 PM.
