Is there life beyond Earth?

This question has fascinated humanity for centuries. Given the vast number of stars and planets in the known universe, it seems possible that there could be an abundance of life, including intelligent life capable of interstellar communication and travel; however, scientists have found no credible evidence beyond our planet.

With advanced technology and unanswered questions, the search for extraterrestrial life has accelerated over the past half-century, moving from fringe science to sensationalist news to legitimate research and front-page headlines. The question is no longer are we alone, but are we ready for contact?

The exhibition will be on display at the Linda Hall Library beginning Oct. 25, 2024, located at 5109 Cherry Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The Library is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Exhibition galleries will also be open the second Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
