The 2025 Sampler Garden Tour

2025 Sampler Garden Tour, hosted by the Garden Club of Shawnee, KS. This year's tour features six unique gardens that are sure to cover any gardener's interest. From closely clipped beds to small patio spaces and wild natural settings, you will see it all. The Tour is June 14th, RAIN or SHINE from 9am-5pm. More information can be found at local Shawnee retail garden centers or Eventbrite. Come and have a fun day with people who love to get their hands dirty and are thankful for what nature provides.

It’s the primary instrument in the orchestra of my art practice.
From childhood, drawing has been my place of peace and the epicenter of my world-building.
Drawing teaches me how to see, while calibrating my inner eye, my hand, my heart, and my outer eyes.

Give 'em Hell 5K

Event

Help us celebrate one of Independence's most famous residents at this fun family event at the Harry S Truman Library and Museum! The race starts at the Library and the course travels through the historic downtown neighborhood and the Independence Square before returning to the Harry S Truman Library & Museum. There is a nominal registration fee of $10 prior to April 27 and $15 on or after April 27. Participants may also purchase a t-shirt if they sign up by April 26. T-shirts are $15.
